A digital publishing disruptor and champion of creator rights, Arikia Millikan is rebuilding media infrastructure from the ground up as founder of Berlin-based CTRL+X. Her work sits at the critical intersection of journalism, technology, and digital preservation.
After beginning her career as a science journalist, Arikia became the youngest editor at WIRED, where she led groundbreaking community journalism projects, including Haiti Rewired. These experiences revealed fundamental flaws in how our digital heritage is preserved, inspiring her mission to develop more resilient publishing systems.
Previously, she founded LadyBits, a feminist publishing collective that reached millions of readers. Her writing has appeared in The Atlantic, VICE, National Geographic, and The Verge.
